LIFE PORTRAITS: The Richards Family

It always poses a challenge to photographers to shoot at a fresh location – we worry about the lighting, backgrounds, and all the little details. But what we often don’t realized is that shooting at a location from a choice of your client tells you that they are comfortable & familiar with the location — this is especially true for family portraits, if they don’t feel at “home” (no pun intended), the picture will be lifeless. So instead of shooting at a location of my choice and have the entire shoot planned and executed according to the photographer’s blueprint, my client Susan showed me around the house and their yard, and they provided me with great suggestions on what they want see. It was all teamwork, we had a blast!

ps: Thank you for the bottle of wine!
