WEDDING – Ashley & Steve

I don’t even know where to begin. I guess I can say I am honored to have the opportunity to document this wedding, or say how beautiful and intimate this wedding was. They would be all true, but would be like going to Paris and not seeing the Eiffel Tower or travelling to Italy and not sip on espresso even if you don’t drink coffee. Because that wouldn’t be complete, and maybe I just don’t have the words to articulate the emotion of this wedding.

One winter Sunday morning in late 2009 I unexpectedly swerved into Victory Christian Center (now Relate Church), little that I know that one right turn off 152nd street would — change everything, ev-ery-thing. This is where we learned how to be husband, wife and parents. This was where we came to the end of ourselves and Pastor John & Helen joined our broken hearts as we prayed for healing for the baby boy that was on the way.

So the family that we got to photograph are our pastors, heros, spiritual leaders, world-changers and friends. The story of Ashley & Steven is a beautiful love story, and their love and passion for each other and their family came from the deepest of heart, and I hope I managed to documented it in the most authentic and honest way. So yes, we are honored that we had the opportunity to document this wedding, and we can’t imagine to be part of a more intimate wedding.
