There’s a reason why most pre-wedding or engagement photos in Singapore are shot at night. With an average annual temperature of 27°C, a tropical rainforest climate with no true distinct seasons, so enduring this heat outdoor feels like a workout; or maybe I am just spoiled by the mild Canadian weather back home.
As Brandon & Stephanie resides in Singapore, we invested time researching locations in the attempt to avoid the cliché or popular Singapore hotspots for pre-wedding and engagement photos. I guess it’s like avoiding the Eiffel tower if the couple lives in Pairs; sort of speaks. Don’t get me wrong, popular spots are great if you want the photos to instantly communicate a sense of place, but in this shoot we wanted to find locations to support the couple and the composition, versus just placing the couple in a grand locations for a postcard type shot. The Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay are all great, but the search for unique location is an adventure all by itself.
